Leslie Jorgensen, MBA
Founder & President

Leslie has been providing operational support to small businesses since 1997, including development and implementation of support infrastructure for several start-up organizations. Her background includes accounting, financial reporting, payroll, benefits administration and office management. An entrepreneur herself, Leslie has an in-depth understanding of the unique challenges faced by small businesses and start-ups. She holds an MBA from Boston University and a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.


Paul Audet, MSF
Managing Consultant

Paul has 15 years of experience supporting high-tech, manufacturing, consumer electronics, and professional service companies. He has developed diverse business experience dealing with companies from early stage to over $1 billion in revenues, through his progressively responsible financial management roles. Paul has an extensive background in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, accounting, and analysis as well as experience preparing financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. He has a demonstrated ability in the development, implementation and management of financial reporting and controls. He has developed strong business partnering relationships in each of his roles with a demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization. Paul hails from Bose Corporation, Macromedia, Cisco Systems, Lotus/IBM, and Parametric Technology. He holds an MS in Finance from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley College and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.


Kate Blake
Financial Operations Associate

Kate has over 15 years of experience in the finance and accounting field. She has worked in both public and corporate accounting. She started her career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen where she was responsible for auditing, reviewing and preparing financial statements for clients in a variety of industries. After leaving public accounting, she was a financial analyst at DM Management, a publicly-held retail company. At, Kate worked as a finance and accounting recruiter, working to place all levels of finance and accounting professionals. Prior to joining our team, she worked for In the Pink Stores as a project manager, involved in all areas of accounting and finance. She was also in charge of process improvements, leading several cost-cutting and process efficiency projects. Kate holds a BS in Finance from Boston College and an MBA/Masters in Accounting from Northeastern University.


Beth Coate
Business Development Associate

Beth has over 15 years experience in sales and marketing. She started her career at a Massachusetts based start-up, ProCD where she learned the fundamentals of growing a business from the ground up. She then went on to hold National Account Manager positions at nationally recognized companies GN Netcom, Iomega Corporation, and the software division of Xerox; ScanSoft, Inc. In these roles she was responsible for developing strong relationships with accounts at all levels, achieving multi-million dollar sales goals and implementing marketing plans at national retail channel accounts. Beth earned a BA in Communications from the University of Maine, Orono.


Dottie Crowther
Help Desk Associate

For several years prior to joining the Supporting Strategies Help Team, Dottie volunteered her time within various youth hockey leagues in an administrative capacity, including serving as the Tournament Director for a 24-team youth hockey tournament. Prior to that, she worked as a legal secretary both within private law firms, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Dottie earned her Associates Degree from Bunker Hill Community College and is working towards her certificate in Business Accounting & Financial Software from North Shore Community College.


Carrie Decatur
Financial Operations Associate

Carrie has extensive experience working as a financial administrator, mainly in the non-profit sector. Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, Carrie managed the financial operations for the First Church in Wenham, where she implemented and monitored the church budget, administered all contributions, accounts payable, payroll, mission donations, grants and restricted funds. She has also volunteered for several non-profit organizations on the North Shore - she has served as Trustee and Exhibits Chairperson at the Wenham Museum, as a board member for the Hamilton-Wenham Education Fund, and Treasurer for Friends of Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School. Carrie holds a B.S. in Economics from UMASS Dartmouth.


Linda DiMaria, CPA
Financial Operations Associate

Linda has over 10 years of accounting experience, working in both the public and private sector. She started her career at Price, Waterhouse, Coopers in their audit practice. Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, Linda served as Controller at Ullo International in Natick where she was responsible for ensuring the accuracy of month-end closes for three divisions, financial statement preparation, monitoring daily cash flow and handling the day-to-day activities as they related to the accounting function. Linda also is very active in her community, and has served on the board of her PTO, and as Treasurer for the Westwood Young Womens' Club. Linda holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island.


Melissa DiMento, MBA
Financial Operations Associate

Melissa has ten years of business experience, working in business analysis and customer service roles. At Lyrix Systems, Melissa worked as a Sr. Account Manager in their Customer Service Operations department where she managed all new projects for customers, developed and maintained project plans and was responsible for coordinating and tracking change management activities. She also provided customers with a single point of contact for all operational issues and managed post-implementation support. Prior to Lyrix, Melissa worked as Program Manager at Nortel Networks, where she oversaw service and support to Carrier and Enterprise customers and acted as prime service contact for all customer service issues. Melissa earned a BS in Managerial Finance from Babson, and holds an MBA from Bentley.


Karen Fafara, MBA
Financial Operations Associate

Karen has gained 10 years of accounting experience through progressively responsible corporate financial roles at Teradyne and Cingular Wireless. Karen began her career as an accountant for Teradyne, assisting with accounts receivable, sales order tracking, and collections. She then moved into financial analyst positions, providing management with information on performance results versus forecast, as well as helping to calculate and track deferred revenue and sales commissions. Karen also served as project leader for implementing Hyperion Pillar budgeting software for a $300 million division. At Cingular, Karen was responsible for facilitating all aspects of the annual budget and quarterly departmental expense forecasting process for a $60 million annual budget. Within this role, she also prepared monthly and quarterly financial analysis reporting packages for management. Karen has her B.S. in Accounting and M.B.A., both from Bentley College.


Sharon Foley, MBA
Financial Operations Associate

Sharon has over 14 years of corporate accounting experience, working in the private sector. Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, Sharon worked for Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation, where she managed a team of 6 to handle the daily/monthly operational accounting activities. This included the responsibility for all accounts receivable and payables, payroll, and fixed asset transactions. She was also responsible for the monthly close of the operations general ledger, the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and the monthly actual vs budget cost analysis and reporting. She held a similar position at Learning Services Corporation, where she was the Accounting Manager for a multi-entity head injury rehabilitation company. Sharon holds an MBA from Salem State College and a BS in Accounting from Norwich University.


Kristen Ford
Financial Operations Associate

Kristen has worked in the accounting field since 1992, and has experience working within organizations small and large, private and public. She spent several years at Strato Medical, a 150+ employee subsidiary of Pfizer, where she assisted with the month-end closing process and payroll administration, and moved on to a similar role at Centra Software, a publicly traded software company. Kristen gained start-up experience at Axya Medical, where she managed the accounting function for the company – her responsibilities ranged from AP and AR management to preparing monthly reporting and assisting management with cash forecasting. She holds a B.S. in Business and Accounting from UMASS Lowell.


Tricia Fusco Love
Financial Operations Associate

Tricia brings more than 20 years of financial experience to Supporting Strategies. She has supported organizations of various sizes from small, start-up businesses to large publicly traded companies. Tricia's roles have required her to balance both the responsibility to close books on a timely and accurate basis, as well as projects including the implementation of process improvements, and building partnerships with various levels of business management. Tricia was the project manager of 3 system implementations, Dynamics, QAD MFG/Pro, and Dynamics Ax. She has handled a wide variety of responsibilities including preparing financial statements and reports, managing monthly and year-end closings, cash flow analysis, product line and margin analysis. Tricia holds a B.S. in Finance from Bentley College.


Debra George
Financial Operations Associate

Debra has been working in the accounting field for almost 20 years. She has spent most of her career at Converse as a Senior Tax and Capital Budget Accountant. In this role, she assisted with tax audits including state and federal income taxes, sales tax and transfer pricing, and prepared and filed property tax returns, annual reports and business licenses for multiple jurisdictions. Debra also prepared and tracked the company's capital budget which included calculating internal rates of return. Debra has also held other accounting support roles, assisting companies with their tax filings and related activities. Debra holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Merrimack College.


Liz Homem
Financial Operations Manager

Liz has 15 years of accounting experience, most gained from her experience in various accounting roles at The Gillette Company. Prior to joining our team, Liz served as a Supervisor in corporate accounting, where she managed a staff of 3. In this role, she supervised detailed activities involved in maintenance, reporting and reconciliation of the legal books for Commercial Operations US, Canada and Oral B Laboratories, Inc. in SAP and Hyperion, and was responsible for monthly preparation of balance sheet statements and issuance to business units. Prior to this position, Liz was a Financial Analyst in various divisions, including Oral B and Braun. Liz earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Regis College, and holds an Accounting Certificate from Northeastern University.


Christine Kobelski
Financial Operations Associate

Christine has eleven years of accounting experience, working mostly in the real estate/ property management field. She has held various positions including: staff accountant, asset manager, financial analyst, corporate accounting manager and controller. Working in these roles has given Christine great knowledge of the different aspects of accounting and management. She holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.


Diane Looney, MBA
Financial Operations Associate

Diane has over 16 years of experience working in the accounting field. Most recently, Diane managed her own firm, providing bookkeeping and accounting services to small businesses on the South Shore. In this role, she provided general accounting support, and managed accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking relationships. She also prepared financial statements, and worked with her clients to prepare for their annual tax return filings. Prior to that, Diane held various positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield, including Financial Analyst, where she administered all aspects of account billing in accordance with underwriting guidelines and corporate policies, and managed 80 accounts representing $30 million dollars in accounts receivable monthly. Diane holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Providence College, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an M.B.A. from Suffolk University.


Amy Lyons, CPA
Financial Operations Manager

Amy has over fifteen years of experience in financial analysis, financial reporting and accounting research and has worked in corporate finance and public accounting. Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, Amy worked at Old Mutual PLC US as a Senior Financial Consultant. She worked on many finance projects, one in which she served as the US representative of a worldwide corporate team responsible for the conversion of Old Mutual PLC US financial statements to International Accounting Standards. At United Asset Management, Amy served as Senior Financial Reporting Specialist where she was responsible for preparing the Company’s 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K documents for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Prior to that, she was Audit Division Senior at Arthur Anderson, where she was responsible for the review and preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP for both private and public companies. Amy serves on the board of per PTO, and as treasurer for the Westwood Community Chest. Amy holds a B.S. in Accounting from Boston College.


Jennifer McGrath
Financial Operations Associate

Jennifer has several years of experience assisting start-up technology companies with their accounting needs in the role of Accounting Manager. Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, Jennifer worked for NaviMedix, where she managed a team of 3 to handle the daily/monthly accounting activities for the company. This included performing the month-end closing process, and preparing financial statements, and analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and financial obligations against budget. Jennifer also managed all revenue reporting/reconciliations in accordance with GAAP, and assisted with the preparation of the annual audit. She held similar positions at Interwise and Curl Corporation, where she was the project manager for their implementation of Oracle Financials. Jennifer holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Worcester State College.


Connie Morrison
Help Desk Associate

Connie has spent much of her career as co-owner of her family livery company. With over 20 years in this role, Connie was responsible for all aspects of sales, customer service and care. She also acted as bookkeeper with responsibility for A/R, A/P, and month-end closings. Connie most recently has worked as an Office Assistant where she was responsible for customer service, database management, and general bookkeeping.


Cathy O'Brien
Financial Operations Associate

Cathy has 24 years of accounting experience in the private sector. In her last role at AMR Research, Inc., she managed a team of 3, handling the daily and monthly accounting activity. Duties included monthly and annual reporting to company executives, including the President, CFO, Controller and all department managers. In this role she oversaw accounts receivable and accounts payable, financial statement preparation, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, budget to actual reporting and forecasting. Much of Cathy’s experience is in the Healthcare industry, where she worked her way up from A/P clerk to the Assistant Controller while earning her Bachelors degree. She holds a BS in Accounting from Salem State College.


Jeanne Richards, CPA
Financial Operations Manager

Jeanne has over 15 years of accounting experience working in both public and corporate accounting. She started her career at KPMG Peat Marwick, where she was involved in the management of client audit engagements. Jeanne then worked at Staples, Inc. in various accounting roles, including Accounting Manager, where she was responsible for the preparation of external consolidated reports including 10K and 10Q for this $5.2 billion, NASDAQ traded company. While at Staples, Jeanne was an instrumental participant in the conversion and implementation of the Oracle General Ledger package. Jeanne graduated Cum Laude from UMASS Amherst with a B.A. in Accounting.


Pam Rose
Financial Operations Associate

Pam has almost thirty years of accounting experience, mainly in the services industry. She was most recently CFO for a public relations firm, where she managed all facets of the accounting department, including A/R, A/P, payroll, human resources, financial reporting including budgets and forecasting, and tax reporting. Pam earned a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Maryland and gained her accounting degree from George Mason University. She holds a CPA license in the state of Virginia. Pam also is the director and a coach for a juniors program instructing over 250 local teenaged girls in the sport of volleyball.


Dee Sabelli
Business Manager

Dee has over 23 years of accounting experience. Her business exposure ranges from working for large corporations such as London Fog, to smaller firms, including Hestia Creations, located in Marblehead, MA. At London Fog, Dee supported the controller with various tasks including accounts payable and accounts receivable management, payroll processing, and account analysis. At Hestia Creations, Dee supported the business owners by managing all aspects of the business' bookkeeping function, including month-end close and preparation of month-end financial reports. Dee also has experience an a entrepreneur - she owned and operated J.Higby's Yogurt & Ice Cream Shoppe of Marblehead for over 12 years. Operating her own company allowed her to gain considerable knowledge in retail sales, inventory and internal controls, management and budgeting.


Stephen Schultz
Financial Operations Manager

Steve comes to Supporting Strategies with over 25 years of management experience in operations and sales working in both start-ups and multinational corporations including Digital Equipment Corporation and IBM. Steve was the co-founder and President of Kerotec, a mid-size computer peripheral distributor serving the Western European market, as well as the co-founder of Splash Auto Washes. Steve led both organizations to successful acquisition. Steve has been a professor of International Operations and Six Sigma Quality Control at both WPI and New England College. He holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Lowell.


Sharon Skahen
Financial Operations Associate

Sharon has been working in the accounting and finance field for over twenty years. She began her professional career with a focus on real estate accounting. At The Berkshire Group, a real estate investment company, she gained experience in both property and corporate accounting performing financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and review and presentation of financial results. At AEW Capital Management, a real estate investment firm, her role as the financial reporting manager required detailed reviews and verification of real estate transactions and values for consolidation to management reports for over $7 billion in assets and securities under management. Sharon has also performed real estate accounting software testing, and has most recently been working with small businesses performing all functions of monthly accounting and reporting. Sharon graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Finance and Management.


Shelby Tutty, MHA
Financial Operations Associate

Shelby has experience in the management and finances of online and start-up companies, including her own Internet retail corporation. Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, she managed the finances of a custom software company for six years. In addition to her accounting background, she has 15 years of combined experience in sales, marketing, customer service, and corporate training. Shelby holds a Bachelor of Science from Springfield College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, a Certificate of Management Studies from Suffolk University, and a Master of Health Administration from Clark University.


Jennifer Willner, MBA
Financial Operations Associate

Jennifer has both an accounting and financial analysis background. As Financial Analyst at a large Boston law firm, Jennifer prepared financial statements and analyzed firm performance by branch and by partner. She also assisted in budgeting and forecasting for this $40MM firm. Prior to that, Jennifer spent 8 years at Inc. Magazine, where she managed the monthly closing process for a $50MM division of the company in her role as Senior Staff Accountant, and also served as a Financial Analyst to the Products Director. She received her MBA with honors from Bentley College and holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.


Lisa Wood
Financial Operations Associate

Lisa has over 20 years of accounting experience. She spent roughly half of that time at The Gillette Company in various accounting support roles, including General Accountant and Budget Analyst for their Braun Division where she was responsible for reconciling and maintaining major accounts, including managing intercompany accounting between the U.S. and Germany. She also served as an Inventory Analyst in the company's South Boston Manufacturing Center, and as a Sales Forecast and Budget Analyst for their Stationery Products Division. After leaving Gillette, Lisa worked as a freelancer assisting small businesses on the North Shore with their accounting support needs. Lisa holds a B.S. from Johnson & Wales and has a Certificate in Accounting from Salem State College.
