James Gillmeister, MBA, CPA

James is an accomplished executive with a 40-year record of success in financial and operational management across industries. He is skilled in asset management, expense control, relationship-building and the use of information technology to inform decision-making.

Prior to Supporting Strategies, James served as Director of Financial Operations at a major labor union; Controller, Consultant and Project Manager with a nonprofit; Chief Financial Officer/Business Manager for a school district with an operational budget of $130 million; Director of Finance and Operations for a nonprofit management firm; and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a processor/wholesaler.

Earlier in his career, James worked for an electronics retailer, advancing from Staff Accountant to Controller/Director of Human Resources to Vice President and ultimately Senior Vice President/Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.

James earned a Master of Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Finance and Economics) and a Bachelor of Science (Accounting) from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois.
