Laura has deep experience in both public and private financial management. With Supporting Strategies, she has worked with manufacturing, consulting, software-as-a-service, retail and television production clients as well as a membership/education association. Among her many strengths, Laura uses multiple third-party applications to automate the synchronization of QuickBooks Enterprise with online retail sales.
As a school district Comptroller, Laura was responsible for all financial transactions, including cash and debt management, tax collection and audits. She also ensured compliance with all federal, state and education agency regulations. Her department was recognized for creating financial transparency in a public database.
Earlier in her career, Laura was a Controller at an international carrier company. In addition to all aspects of the company's accounting and finances, she managed human resources matters and coordinated job-safety procedures to minimize workplace safety risks. Prior to that, she worked as a Controller (managing a 10-person accounting resource for a chain of convenience stores) and as a Forensic Staff Accountant at a regional CPA firm.
Laura has a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
