Sonya, a Certified Public Accountant with more than 20 years of public and private accounting and tax preparation experience, has honed her skills by servicing accounts in a variety of industries and holding a leadership role at a major nonprofit organization.
In her most recent role as Accountant for a CPA firm, Sonya managed client relations; prepared individual, S corporation and partnership returns; performed ongoing accounting functions; and managed more-extensive special projects.
Previously, Sonya was Chief Financial Officer for a major affiliate of a non-governmental nonprofit organization. There, she managed all finance and administration department functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, mortgage receivables and job costing. Earlier in her career, she served as Manager for several CPA and accounting firms, where her duties included conducting SEC audits, compilations and reviews as well as preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations.
Sonya earned a Master of Accounting and Financial Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from DeVry University.
