Having worked as both an independent CPA and as part of a team, Emily understands how to collaborate effectively. She has more than 20 years of experience encompassing nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
Before joining Supporting Strategies in 2018, Emily was Chief Financial Officer at Second Harvest of South Georgia, the state's second-largest food bank. Her responsibilities included preparing all tax returns, managing vendor contracts and overseeing certain government grants and compliance issues. She also coordinated IT support and human resources functions.
Emily began her career as a Staff Accountant at a CPA firm, where she specialized in audit engagements for nonprofits. She also prepared income tax returns for partnership, corporate and nonprofit clients.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting, from Valdosta State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia. She is also a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and an IRS-authorized e-file provider.
