Laura is a finance and accounting expert who has spent more than a decade strengthening businesses' core operations. She understands the systems and controls that ensure an organization's financial health and excels at refining those processes.
Prior to joining Supporting Strategies, Laura established accounting functions, best practices and cost-reduction measures as Controller of a home warranty and risk management business. She also oversaw financial reporting, human resources functions, reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger transactions and contributed to year-end budgeting and internal audit processes.
As Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist and then Assistant Controller for an early-stage private energy company, Laura established due diligence processes and oversaw human resources and accounting functions, among many other responsibilities. Earlier in her career, she was an Accounting Senior with a payroll and bookkeeping business, designing P&L statements in QuickBooks and handling bookkeeping and receipt classification for 35 clients.
Laura holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Regis University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She earned an Outstanding Public Service award for providing volunteer income tax assistance within the IRS and is a CPA candidate in the State of Colorado.
